Chic Baby Boutique is a small, mother-owned company located in San Francisco, California. We don't have a storefront and we're truly a home-based business. The best way to reach us is via email at: service@ChicBabyBoutique.com. We will reply within 24 business hours.
This boutique was formed out of necessity, vision, and dreams. About three weeks after the birth of my son Jeffrey, I found out that my employer had laid me off. It was a blessing in disguise because it allowed me to recover fully from my c-section and other complications, but best of all: spend time with my first and new baby.
What happened after that was a surprise to me. I never thought I would enjoy being a stay at home mom, but I did. After some DEEP soul searching and contemplating, I realized that I didn't want to go back to a traditional job that required me to be away from my baby. All my life, I didn't think I would like it and I felt that we couldn't afford it, but a dilemma developed - I wanted to be at home with my son! What I wanted was simple: to have my son with me and make some money. Wouldn't that be ideal?, I thought. I had experience in starting and running small businesses for other people, so why not work for myself? It was several months later that I had the courage, energy, and vision to start this business, thus Chic Baby Boutique was born!
So here's the story behind my name: "MaMoo". This is my son's mispronunciation of MaMa, but as my husband pointed out, MaMoo is far more correct as I am his "MaMa" and his "Moo". What a smart baby!
Having a baby boutique and a baby is a symbiotic relationship. As a parent, it's fun to see all of the new gadgets, clothes and stuff for your little one. As a parent and shopkeeper, I pull double duty by scouting out the hottest picks and award winning products from magazines and associations like Fit Pregnancy, Parents, Parenting, JPMA, etc. Some of our products we store in house, while others will be shipped directly from the manufacturer. In all cases, I am familiar with all the products as I select them under criteria such as: Would I buy this? Does this it work? Is it cute? Will my baby like it? This is where my son gets to "test out the goods." For most of the products I carry, I would buy and use them. But since I don't get many freebies, I end up buying these goodies myself! Under some of the products in the details section, I will share interesting tidbits, comments and stories with you. These tales are usually about our first encounters or ideas about the product. Having an on-line store has a potential drawback: I cannot converse with you face to face to help you find what you are looking for. We're always looking to expand our product offering or do something different. I've created a Membership Rewards Program that is designed to say a little thank you to our return customers.
